Susan started her career as a Physics teacher in Clydebank High School and moved to the Scottish Borders in 2007, where she took up post as Depute Headteacher in Hawick High School before becoming headteacher of Jedburgh Grammar School in 2015.

In April 2020, Susan became headteacher of Ancrum Primary School and the new Jedburgh Grammar Campus, the latter bringing four educational settings together into one campus community, which opened its doors to children, young people and staff in August 2020.

Susan lives in Jedburgh and is passionate about working with all members of the school and wider communities to realise the campus vision of “Learning Without Limits”.
