Malcolm Fraser

Architect, Fraser Livingstone Architects

Malcolm Fraser is an Edinburgh architect whose work spans from award-winning homes, arts buildings, retrofit and buildings for education from University research institutes to Nurseries and, in general, placemaking and cultural renewal, to advising Government and advising and empowering communities. A particular focus is on how new forms of construction, in addressing carbon capture, should also focus on the health and wellbeing of their occupants – of particular relevance to buildings for children.

His work promotes regeneration through bottom-up cultural renewal, and led to an invitation to lead the Scottish Government’s Town Centre Review which, reporting in 2013, sought to bring life and investment throughout Scotland. He’s also Convenor for the Common Weal “think-and-do-tank” which sets out programmes for national social and environmental renewal.
