Is there another way to engage learners in STEAM? Webinar
Webinar Synopsis:
STEAM enables and empowers students to think in a more integrated way, and its importance really cannot be underestimated.
STEAM’s involved in the design or production of nearly everything - from clothes to phones, bridges to vaccines.
And even the biggest challenges we face – such as climate change – will probably only be answered by STEAM-thinking capabilities.
But there is a problem
Overall, students, today are less likely to choose to continue studying STEAM subjects than they have been in the past.
Whilst maths and science have been achieving high levels of retention of students at A-level, technology, engineering, and art have not been so successful.
Whilst we can’t change the curriculum, we believe there is another way to get pupils interested in STEAM, to inspire thinking and seed conversations.
Learning Points:
- Could there be an alternative approach to getting pupils excited about a career in STEAM?
- A radical way to connect what you learn in school with higher education and career paths.
